James Byrd Obituary

He was born on November 21, 1969, in Boynton Beach, Florida, the son of Edward T. and Vickie (Sheffield) Byrd.
James grew up in Ohio and graduated from Rodgers High School in Toledo with the Class of 1989.
James worked in maintenance for several factories and companies over the years, where his natural skill and knack for working with his hands shone through. He had a true talent for tinkering and fixing things - often creating or improving gadgets just for the fun of it. One of his favorite projects was building a gas-powered bicycle, a testament to his inventive and independent spirit.
James will be remembered as a free-spirited and loving man who cared deeply for his family.
He is survived by his father, Edward T. Byrd of rural Seymour, IN; his son, Clayton Byrd, and grandson, Avery Byrd, both of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Kimberly Jones of rural Seymour, IN; and a nephew, Jimmy Jones of Brownstown, IN.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Vickie Byrd, who passed away on April 8, 2010.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory.
