Jimmy's Obituary:



James Earl Cannon (Jimmy)(Cannonball) passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the age of 72 He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, neighbor, and friend  Jimmy graduated from Georgetown High School in 1968. He enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Army (Vietnam Veteran) and was awarded the Bronze Star "V", Army Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge plus numerous marksmanship medals.

Later he worked on offshore and land rigs as well as driving for various trucking /logging companies.

He s survived by his daughter Jayme Young (Jason) of Sterlington, LA., granddaughters Gabby and Harley, brothers Robert Cannon (Sherry) of Baton Rouge, LA., Guy Cannon (Dianna) of Newcastle, OK., sister Carolyn Oliver (Terry) of Georgetown, LA., nephews Matthew, Phillip, Brad, Ryan, and Terry (Lauren), nieces Callie (Travis) and Michelle, grandnephews Drew, Eli, Barrett, Rhett, and Flynn, grandniece Lena.  He leaves behind his loyal pets Trouble, Sissy, and Cat.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Alton "Red" and Beverly Cannon of Georgetown, LA.  A memorial service will be held at Zion Cemetery, Georgetown, LA at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
