James Santos Castro, a devoted family man and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 43. Born on June 14, 1981, in Houston, Texas, to Gloria Castro and the late Caesar Castro Sr., James grew up in a warm and loving family, which would become the cornerstone of his own life.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Alejandra Castro, and their son, James Santos Castro, Jr., who were the pride and joy of his life. He also leaves behind his mother, Gloria Castro; his brother, Cesar Castro, Jr. (Lisa Castro); and his sister, Josie Chavez (Mariano Chavez). James was a cherished brother-in-law to Patricia Escobedo (Dwayne Escobedo), Alberto Carrillo (Lyndsey Carrillo), and Arturo Carrillo (Gabby Vazquez). His role as a fun and loving uncle will be fondly remembered by his nephews, Cesar Castro III, Joshua Castro, Ethan Castro, Jesse Chavez, Gabriel Chavez, Armando Chavez, Jorge Carrillo, Landon Vazquez, and David Escobedo, as well as his nieces, Shelby Chavez, Araceli Escobedo, and Arabella Escobedo.
James dedicated many years to his career as a truck driver, a job that he performed with great skill and dedication. His work ethic and reliability made him a respected figure among his colleagues and within the industry. Beyond his professional life, James was deeply involved in his community, always ready to lend a helping hand or share his expertise.
An outdoorsman at heart, James found solace and joy in nature. He was an avid fisherman and hiker, often taking his family on adventures to explore the great outdoors. His love for the Dallas Cowboys was well-known, and game days were always a special occasion in the Castro household. James was always willing to lend everyone a helping hand with his ability to tinker and fix everything.
Those who knew James will remember him as the epitome of selflessness. His friendly demeanor and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his character. James was the kind of person who would drop everything to assist a friend in need, and his absence will leave a void in the hearts of many.
James's life was a testament to the values he held dear: family, friendship, and community. His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to James Santos Castro, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love, and we take comfort in the memories that will endure in our hearts forever.
