James Chang Stokes Obituary
was born October 27, 1997, in Brooklyn, NY, and through the miracle of adoption, became the son of
Greg and Jo Ann (Jo) Stokes.
James was a proud graduate of Northampton Community College followed by East Stroudsburg
University earning his bachelor's degree in Business Management. He loved to travel and recently
returned from South Africa where he visited friends. He loved to go snowboarding, shoot pool and spend
time with his many friends.
James was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Nancy (Nana) Reiter and his best friend, Akili
Eugene.
James will be deeply missed by his parents Greg and Jo Ann (Jo) Stokes; siblings, Iveanna Stokes,
J'Vontre Stokes, Jaynashia Stokes, and Nathan Stokes; nephews and nieces, Jayze, Aliza, Zaylee, Rajell
(RJ) and Bella as well as many aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will take place at Benders Mennonite Church, 975 Benders Church Rd, Pen Argyl,
PA, on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:00am immediately followed by the internment. Child care will be
available.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home of Stroudsburg PA.James

He was an amazing, funny, spectacular, and hardworking man. He made his friends laugh and it put on a smile their face. He has a caring heart and he will always help out a friend. He was lovely and wonderful friend. I send my love and condolences to his family. I will miss him dearly and will always love him.
