James "Jim" Charboneau was an outdoorsman at heart who loved fishing, hunting, camping, floating the river, and barbecuing in the backyard with family by his side.
Jim passed away on March 2, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 73.
Born on September 24, 1952, to Augustus B. Charboneau and Jessie W. Midgett Charboneau, both since deceased, Jim was married for over 50 years to the love of his life, Betty M. Tripp Charboneau. Jim was blessed with six children: Clifford D. Charboneau, Angela R. Charboneau Wishon, Julia K. Charboneau, Brittany N. Charboneau, Gayla R. Tripp Charboneau, and Aaron R. Wishon; eight grandchildren: Anthony D. French, Paige R. Charboneau, Blake J. Charboneau, Devyn R. Wishon, Lily N. Charboneau, Iris S. McNew, Audrey L. Alberti French, Weston Calvert; and one great grandchild, Duke A. French, whom all survive him.
Jim was one of six children for which he has one brother and two sisters who survive him and two brothers who proceed him in death. Jim also had numerous extended family members and close family friends in Carol and Ray Coulter.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, March 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Chester Lahmann officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to order a memorial tree or plant one on your own in Jim’s honor. www.moreleaf.org
