James, age 84, passed away on September 27, 2023, at the St. Williams Care Center, Milbank, SD.
James Carl Clark was born to Harold and Adena (Albertson) Clark on May 21, 1939, at Wesley Hospital in Wadena, MN. After completing high school, Jim continued his education at Concordia College in Moorhead, graduating in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army from March 1963 until his honorable discharge from the Korean Conflict in 1965. After returning to the states, Jim became an accountant at the State Auditor's office in St. Paul until retiring in 1996.
In Wadena, Jim was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He served St. John Lutheran Church as a financial secretary, treasurer and vice chairman. He enjoyed quiet walks of solitude and playing sudoku puzzles. His greatest joy was being "Uncle Jim" to his 12 nieces and nephews.
Preceding James in death were his parents, Harold and Adena; siblings, Beverly Tarum, Robert Clark and Charles Clark; brother-in-law, Maynard Tarum; and niece, Nancy VandenBerghe.
Surviving James are his siblings, Thomas (Patricia) Clark of Young America and Patricia (Carl) Haanen of Graceville; along with several nieces and nephews.
Military honors will be provided by the Elmer Goche Post 3922, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wadena, MN.
Burial will be in the Minnesota Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls, MN.
