James Clark, Sr Obituary
James Richard Clark, Sr., 79, of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. He was the son of the late Herman William and Edna Caul Clark.
James served proudly in the US Marine Corps where he earned a National Defense Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal and Rifle Expert Badge. He was honorably discharged in 1968. He retired from AT&T (formerly BellSouth) after 32 years.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lucy Gunter Clark, sons, William B. Clark and James R. Clark, Jr.; two grandsons, Dylan Clark and Trent Clark (Dakota); two great grandchildren, Jackson and Luna Clark, a brother Samuel Preston Clark and a sister, Edna Ravan Wofford. James was also predeceased by a brother, Jerry William Clark.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 6, at 10:00 AM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood Glendale RD. Spartanburg, SC with his nephew Anthony Ravan officiating. Visitation with the family will follow at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
