James William "Jim" Clarkson Jr.

Graveside service for James William "Jim" Clarkson Jr., age 76, of rural Grandfield, Oklahoma, will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 28, 2025, in the Burkhardt Chapel at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Clarkson passed away at his home Monday morning, November 24, 2025.

Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He was born February 9, 1949, in Richmond, Virginia, to James William Clarkson Sr. and Dora (Glenn) Clarkson. He grew up in Richmond and attended Richmond schools. Jim worked in construction as a roofer as well as siding. He continued to work as a handy-man up until the time of death. He could build, repair, or remodel anything. Jim was united in marriage to Ramona Lee Odom on June 15, 1985, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They lived in Virginia and returned to the farm in Tillman County in 2013. Jim enjoyed boating and fishing, and he loved to play golf.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Lucy; a brother: Gary Clarkson; and a son: Wade Clarkson.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Ramona; two sons: Clint and Dillon; a daughter Wendy Salmon; five grandchildren: Daniel, Charlotte, Audrey, Wyatt, and Madeline; numerous nieces and nephews; and two cherished friends: Andy Johnson, of West Virginia, and Rick Jarrelle, of Virginia.
