James Coe Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 22, 2025.
James A. Coe III, affectionately known as Jimmy or Jim, made the journey to his

creator, the Great Spirit, on August 19, 2025. His beaming smile and twinkling

eyes lit up each room he entered. His laugh permeated the very core of

individuals who knew him. He was a lover of nature, wolves, giant bonfires,

riding his motorcycle, dad jokes, fishing, cooking, singing, music, fur babies,

working on vehicles, and collecting things for repurposing. Most of all, his great

joy was in helping others. His talents were insurmountable as a crafty handyman

and problem solver. He was the guy to call! He was a dedicated friend to Bill W.

and the community where he collaborated and assisted others with making

personal change to find a better life. Jim was compassionate for his fellow

brother or sister and would stop what he was doing to lend a hand. Jim was a

dedicated member to his tiyospaye where he gathered with friends on a weekly

basis to pray in nature. Jim loved to watch sunrises and sunsets while hanging

out with his favorite cat, Outlaw. He was a member of the Michigan National

Guard and a graduate of Waverly High School. And last, but certainly not least,

he was a die-hard (borderline obsessive!) U of M fan, proudly cheering on the

Maize and Blue.

Jim leaves behind a host of people who love him including his mother Patty

Gamin; sister, Jessica (Randy) Mekhayel; brother, Jeffrey (Tammy) Coe; niece,

Isabella Coe; nephew, Jayden Coe; stepmom Lori Coe; step brothers, Sean

(Danielle) and Robert Griffin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; former wife and

friend, Robin Lindell; and countless more friends who loved him dearly. He was

preceded in death by his father, James A. Coe II, and stepfather, Ted Gamin.

Jim's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 1-4pm

at the Wacousta Township Hall, 12803 Wacousta Rd, Grand Ledge, Michigan.
