James "Captain" W. Colby, 66, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at his home on January 24, 2025.
Born on July 26, 1958, in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Robert S. and Joan P. (Butt) Colby, James was raised by his foster parents, Joe and Elaine Lyons. He graduated from high school in Massachusetts and went on to have a variety of experiences in his life.
James proudly served as a Captain in the United States Army, a role in which he demonstrated leadership and dedication. After his time in the military, he worked as a Computer Technician and held various positions, including employment with James E. Strates Shows and Market Basket #13 in Nashua, NH.
Outside of his career, James had many passions. He enjoyed spending time at flea markets and yard sales, and was an avid fan of singing, dancing, movies, and politics. He had a keen interest in watching the news and was particularly fond of trains, often watching train videos on webcam. James was also a former board member of "On The Road to Recovery," now known as "On the Road to Wellness," where he made a positive impact on others' lives.
James is survived by a wide circle of friends and community members, though he had no living relatives. He will be fondly remembered for his vibrant personality and dedication to the causes he cared about.
Arrangements are being handled by Davis Funeral Home, and services will be held at a later date.
James will be missed by all who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
