A visitation and gathering for James "Jimmy" Carroll Cooke, 80, of Cleburne will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, located at 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033. The family invites all who loved Jimmy to join in celebrating him.
James "Jimmy" Carroll Cooke, a graduate of Cleburne High School and East Texas State University, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025. Born on May 21, 1945, in Cleburne, Texas, he was a lifelong resident who cherished his hometown and the relationships he cultivated throughout his life.
Jimmy was known for his great sense of humor, outgoing nature, and clever wit. He was a kind and loving father who deeply cherished his family, especially his granddaughters. He adored spending time with his loved ones, particularly during the holiday season when family gatherings filled his heart with joy. A great dad and a loyal friend, Jimmy found happiness in barbecues and shared moments of laughter and fun with those closest to him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carroll Cedric Cooke and Ina Mae Morrow; sister, Carolyn Mae Kuklies; brother, John Thomas Cooke.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Jamie Lamb and husband J.; son, Ryan Cooke and wife Joy; stepdaughter, Hilary Towne; granddaughters, Elisabeth, Lillian, and Caroline; sister, Ina Lee Roden Brown; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family expresses special thanks to the many caregivers and nurses who provided exceptional care to Jim at Colonial Manor Nursing Home and Texas Health Cleburne during his final years. Their dedication and compassion were invaluable during this time.
Jimmy's spirit and kindness will forever remain a treasured memory in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
