Mr. James Cecil Cossett, Jr., 78, of Box Springs, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at his residence. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 4:00-6:00PM at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ty Ty, GA. 

Mr. Cossett was born in Ashland, KY, on April 14, 1946, to James Cecil Cossett, Sr. and Helen Jo Cross Cossett. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Before his retirement, he was employed as a code inspector for the city of West Palm Beach, FL. Mr. Cossett enjoyed walking his land and hunting. A phenomenal machinist, he could fix or rebuild anything. He loved his cats and dogs. Most of all he loved his family and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tonnie Cossett Pell. 

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Bowles Cossett; by three step-children, Angela Baker (Brian), Adam Guarnieri (Candace), and Courtney Guarnieri (Kristy); by five grandchildren, Tyson Guarnieri, Emma Guarnieri, Stella Guarnieri, Mabry Baker, and Hayes Baker; and one grandchild on the way. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
