James Cummins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Lloyd Cummins, born on July 21, 1949, in Lampasas, Texas to Willie and Lena Rhymes-Cummins. Known for his dedication as a Master Electrician for Brown & Root, James more recently found joy working as a custodian at Lampasas Independent School District and in the garden center at Walmart post-retirement.
With a love for fishing, garage sales, and country music, James will be remembered for his simple pleasures in life. He is survived by his children, Kevin Lee Cummins with wife D'ann, Jamie Leon Cummins with wife Lyndsay, and Rebecca Lynn Vasquez with husband Vincent, along with his cherished 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters, Sandra Blake and husband David and Barbra "Suzy" Donaldson, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by his son, James Edward Cummins, and his parents, Willie and Lena Rhymes Cummins, as well as his sisters Evelyn Daman, Alice Cummins, and Billie "BJ" Cummins.
Mr. Cummins is entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas. There will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or any Cancer Center in his memory. Contributing to causes that were close to his heart would be a wonderful way to honor his legacy. Let us remember James as a beloved son, father, and friend.
