Goldsboro-James Woodrow "Woody" Curfman, 80, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newport News, Virginia on October 31, 1944, he was the son of the late John Edmond and Susan Hudgins Curfman.
In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his brother, John Edmund Curfman, Jr.
Woody is survived by his wife, Janice Evans Curfman; daughter, Susan Stewart (Daniel) of Clayton; son, Jason Curfman (Martha Kay) of Smithfield; grandchildren, Aaron Stewart (Courtney), Ashley Stewart, Andrew Curfman, Emily Curfman, Patrick Kearney, and Zoey Kearney; great-grandchild, Avery Stewart; and sister, Audrey Diggs of Hampton, VA.
Woody proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for several years as an insurance salesman.
A service to celebrate Woody's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Evans officiating. Interment will follow at the Pilkington Cemetery in Pine Level. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
