From a young age, James enjoyed spending time outdoors and fishing. A hobby that brought him peace, joy and relaxation. James was known as a "Jack of all Trades "and could fix anything, he was the Maintenance Supervisor at the apartment complex where he resided for 28 years and would often be found helping his residents and neighbors.
James is survived by his cherished daughter, Michelle Darby and her husband, Kevin of Vernon, his brother, Frank Darby Gresham Sr., and his sister, Deborah Darby both of Hartford and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
At the request of his family, all services are private. There are no calling hours. Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral home in Vernon is assisting the family.
