James Dehner Obituary

James was born May 8, 1933 to the late John T. and Mary L. (Henry) Dehner in Covington, Kentucky. He was preceeded in death by his wife of 64 years Rita (McCoy) Dehner, brothers Johnny, Paul, David and William Dehner, sisters Stella (Dehner) Bratton, Martha Dehner, Sarah (Dehner) Brewster, Priscilla (Dehner) Bingham and Esther Dehner. He is survived by his 3 children son Steve (Dawn) Dehner, daughters Cathy (Kevin) Beighle and Lisa (Dale) Medley; 5 grandchildren, Heather (Jonathan) Ryckman, Christian (Lora) Drennen, Bryan (Lydia) Drennen, Kyle (Sarah) Medley and Elizabeth (Jacob) Smith; 9 great grandchildren Riley, Alivia, Dakota, Natalie, Verity, Vera, Mayven, Charles and Leah and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was best known to friends and family as Jim.
He was a devout man of faith and attended the Community Family Church in Independence, Kentucky. Jim retired from Kroger after 38 years of service in 1985. He was also a veteran, serving his country in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Jim loved to play softball, pitch horseshoes, and play corn hole. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 30th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with service immediately following at 1:00 PM Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Don Catchen II 5645 Taylor Mill Rd. Taylor Mill, Ky 41015.
Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 3227 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, Ky 41018
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Smoky Mountain Children's Home, P.O. Box 4391, Sevierville, Tennessee 37864-4391 or online at www.smch.org
