James "Jim" Dickinson, 64, Park Rapids, MN, died Thursday, January 12, 2023 in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the First English Lutheran Church in Dorset, MN. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 4 until 7 PM at the Cease Funeral Home in Park Rapids and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
Jim was born August 29, 1958 to Roscoe and Ada (Ogden) Dickinson in Park Rapids, MN. He lived his entire life on the family farm. He graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1976. On August 6, 1977 he married Nancy Paulson.
Jim farmed and raised cattle until his death. For many years he did concrete and construction. He enjoyed building bird houses, rock collecting, going to auctions with Doc and he loved farming. He never knew a stranger and was always up for a cup of coffee and good conversation. Jim was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Dorset.
Jim is survived by his children, Pete (Stacie) Dickinson of Park Rapids, Jackie (Dave) Preuss of Park Rapids, Amanda (Jared) Swart of New London, Jon Dickinson of Park Rapids; Brother-in-law, Frank "Doc" Blanchard of Osage; sisters, Louise (Dean) Christianson of Ponsford, Irene (Dan ) Gartner of Park Rapids; niece, Sue Burlingame of Park Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Dana(Jordan) Dickinson, Luke (Paige) Dickinson, Kelsie Swart, Jayden Swart; great nephew, Josh (Kaylea) Burlingame; great-great nephew, Holden and Harrison Burlingame; great-great niece, Harlow Burlingame; 1 great grandchild due in June; and Peewee his puppy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Ada Dickinson; siblings, Charles Dickinson, Doug Dickinson, Tess Blanchard, and Tom Dickinson.
