James Harley Dollgener
(1939-2023)
James Harley Dollgener, age 84 of Mesquite, Texas passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023. A visitation for James will be held on Monday October 16, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX. The funeral service will follow from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. James Harley Dollgener was born in Dallas to Arnold William Dollgener and Hallie Marie (Kirkland) on June 11, 1939. On July 20, 1962, he married the love of his life, Juanita Louise Williams in Dallas, TX. He worked for Star Tex Machinery as a machinist for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed his retirement spending time with family, friends, and his beloved pets.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Juanita Dollgener of Mesquite; daughters Bev Dollgener, Kim Artigues and her husband Mark, and Sherry Ueckert; grandchildren Travis and his wife Taylor, Jeffrey and his wife Brittany, Sarah and her husband Davis, Michael, Christopher, and Hannah and her husband Harrison; great granddaughter Emily Kate Ueckert and his first great grandson due in January.
James is preceded in death by his parents, and nine siblings. James was the last remaining sibling.
Aside from being an amazing husband, dad, brother, son, friend, and perhaps his most well-known title, "Cathair", James loved watching Dallas Cowboys football, deer hunting with his buddies, and playing a serious game of dominos with friends and family.
Our hearts are heavy, but we take comfort in knowing that he is free from pain and dancing in the streets of Heaven.
