Obituary of James Robert Donisch
James Robert Donisch
James Robert Donisch passed away unexpectedly at the age of 38, on Monday, April 7, 2025, from injuries resulting from an auto accident. He was born in LaGrange, IL, on March 13, 1987, and grew up in Minooka. Jim was a graduate of Minooka High School and attended College of DuPage and Joliet Junior College.
Jim spent the majority of his professional life as an operations mechanic with Nicor and was recently at Bunge Loders Croklaan. His colleagues and friends recognized him for his kindness, skill, and passion.
Jim lived a rich and fulfilling life.
He loved music, from playing guitar to attending concerts with his wife and friends. If one of his favorite bands had a new song, he'd share it with loved ones as soon as he could.
He loved gardening. He'd grow and share the spiciest peppers he could find. He took great joy in teaching Santiago, his oldest son, to care for the plants they grew together.
He loved grilling. He'd prepare meals for his family, and created cherished memories around the table. He always asked and catered to each family member's preference.
He loved cars. His attention to detail was reflected in his knowledge and appreciation for them.
In all of his hobbies, he poured all of his passion. He was so intentional to involve his children in sharing his love for music, gardening, and cars. His love language transcended his personal enjoyment; it was the way he chose to love, live, and enjoy those around him.
Above all else, Jim loved his family. He treasured the time he spent with his wife and children, always placing family at the heart of his life.
Jimmy will be remembered by his smile, those big hugs, and his tender touch. His presence brought warmth and comfort to those around him, and he leaves behind a legacy built on love and kindness.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of almost 10 years, Maricela (nee Mascote) Donisch; three children, Santiago Robert Donisch, Matilda Bess Donisch, and James Esteban Donisch; his mother, Barbara Slejko; his father, Terry Donisch; siblings, Ann Bess (Graham) Gage and Tony Georg (Laura) Donisch; his mother and father-in-law, Maria Dolores and Antonio Mascote; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lourdes (Jesus) Torres, Luz (German) Choncoa, Napoleon (Cristina) Mascote, Juan Antonio (Jennifer) Mascote, David Mascote, Lucia (Jorge Moreno) Mascote, Angel Mascote, and Sara Mascote; his uncle, Georg (Laura) Slejko; and his devoted dog, "Oreo". Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
He is preceded by his maternal grandparents, Ladislaus and Bess Slejko.
Visitation will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home Chapel, at 3200 Black Rd, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Trisagion Services at 6:00 p.m. Private Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II.
