James "Jim" Turner Dunn, 92, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in Chattanooga.

Jim was born January 30, 1933, to the late Albert and Mattie (Jackson) Dunn.

Jim graduated from the University of Mississippi and received a master's degree from Pepperdine University while serving in the Army. He would go on to retire from the Army after serving 22 years, including overseas duty in Germany and Vietnam, retiring at the rank of Lt. Col. He was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service. Jim also retired from CBL & Associates after 21 years. He was Director of Leasing- VP and he helped the company grow and was instrumental in the company's IPO in 1993. Jim was a Member of Christ United Methodist Church and very active in the Life Investors Club along with his wife.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lou Dunn and Justin Fleischmann.

Jim is survived by his two daughters, Suzanne Fleischmann (Mike), Julie Manning (Greg), one sister, Susie James, one grandchild, Jamie Paynter (Michael) and two great grandchildren, Alexander and Elizabeth Paynter.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home East Brainerd Road Chapel with Pastor David Hall officiating. He will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to service at Heritage Funeral Home East Brainerd Road Chapel.

In lieu of lowers the family request donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
