James E. Eiholzer

James E. Eiholzer, 84, lifelong resident of Eaton, NY, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Norwich Rehab and Nursing Center.He was born June 2, 1938 in Eaton a son of Karl T. and Marie Kneebuhl Eiholzer and was a graduate of Morrisville-Eaton High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1962. James worked as a route delivery driver for City Linen & Towel Supply in Syracuse for 20 years until 1983 and then in maintenance for the State Police headquarters in Oneida until retiring in 2003. His favorite times were those spent in family activities.He was a communicant of St. Mary' Church in Hamilton and a devout Catholic who had a firm belief in the power of prayer.Surviving are his sister, Theresa and Paul Carter of Sherrill; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters, Gertrude Winkler, Marie Eiholzer, Martha Gregory, Helen Eiholzer, Anna Manning, Emma Carey, Emilie Eiholzer and Frances Snyder, and his brothers, Carl, Joseph, George and Herman Eiholzer.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Monday May 1, 2023 at St. Mary's Church, 16 Wylie St., Hamilton followed by interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Homes, 25 Broad St., Hamilton on Monday from 9:00 to 10:30am prior to the Mass.
