James Ronnie Ellerman, born on September 2, 1948, in
Winnsboro, LA, passed away on May 25, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He peacefully exited this life and stepped into Glory at Plantation Manor Nursing Home in Winnsboro, where he was a resident.Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Edward Carroll Ellerman; his mother, Doris Ernestine Johnston Ellerman; his brothers, Jodie Ellerman and Jan Eugene Ellerman; and his sisters, Betty Ellerman, Wydell Meredith, and Joanne French.He is survived by his brother, Larry Ellerman and wife, Claudine, of Monroe; sisters, Sue Cupit of West Monroe, Brenda Kemp and husband, Don, of Winnsboro, Mary Weaks of Helena, Alabama, Rhonda Guidroz and husband, Richard, of Natchitoches, and Emma Boozman and husband, John, of Helena, Alabama. He also leaves behind a host of beloved nieces and nephews.A 1966 graduate of Winnsboro High School, Ronnie was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and once held the position of music director. From an early age, Ronnie worked alongside his father, Edward Ellerman, repairing radiators. After his father's passing, Ronnie continued the family legacy as the owner of Ellerman's Radiator Shop until his retirement. Ronnie was a proud member of the NRA and an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints. Known for his warm and welcoming nature, Ronnie had a unique ability to make strangers feel like family, earning the love and respect of many.A very special thank you to Jodie's surviving family: his wife, Rine Ellerman, and children, Stacie Liggin, Debbie Miller, and Johnnie Ellerman, who, with tremendous love and selflessness, helped care for Ronnie for many years before and after he became a resident at Plantation Manor. Together, they drove an untold number of miles to doctor visits and the grocery store, just to name a few. Lawn care was done by Jodie and Johnnie. Their dedication and support were invaluable and deeply appreciated.Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 29th, at 11 AM, with Rev. Tommy Basco, Rev. David Richmond, and Brian Evans officiating. Visitation will be held just prior to the funeral services at 10 AM. Pallbearers will be his nephews: Jay Ellerman, Jeff Ellerman, Mike Cupit, Scott Cupit, Brian Evans, Steven Kemp, Jerry Ellerman, and Ian Guidroz. Honorary pallbearers are nephews Johnnie Ellerman and Mark Kemp.Memorials are requested to be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.Ronnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
