James Edward Embree Jr. passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 58. He was born on December 24, 1966, and spent his life surrounded by the people and things he loved most.
James was a devoted fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and OKC Thunder. From a young age, he attended OU games with his family and continued the tradition throughout his life, while attending OU, and eventually becoming a season ticket holder. He never missed a chance to cheer on his team and made sure his family was right there beside him.
He had a deep love and appreciation for music, especially Johnny Cash, Fleetwood Mac, and Billy Joel. He enjoyed watching movies, studying history, collecting coins with his dad, and taking trips to the casino - including several memorable visits to Las Vegas. He was known for his love of well-done steaks, being able to enjoy a black cup of coffee in 100 degree weather, and using copious amounts of pepper on everything.
As a young man, Jimmy was active in sports like wrestling and baseball. He later applied his strong work ethic to his career, working as a production supervisor at Hitachi and a machine technician at several Oklahoma casinos. In his final years, he took joy in taking care of his father as a primary caregiver. He also enjoyed time at the beach, attending Sooner football games, and had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
James was a strong-willed person with a sharp sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and valued those relationships deeply.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ciear and her son, Gian; his daughter, Brittany, and her husband, Logan; and his sister, Kim McRae, and her husband Brad McRae. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Kathleen Embree, and his brother, Ricky Orr.
James will be remembered for his big personality, his loyalty, and the many good times shared with those who knew him.
