James Boyce Falls, 74, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025 at the Robin Johnson House with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Gaston County on October 25, 1950 to the late James and Mildred Boling Falls.
Boyce enjoyed farming and working in his garden. He also enjoyed trips to the beach, especially with his granddaughters. He loved his cows and often considered them his pets. Boyce worked for many years at Duke Power, dredging sand, and with his son Jeremy in his grading business. Later he started his own business in the Hydro Electric Plant.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Bobbie Jarrett Falls; his son, Jeremy Falls and wife Michele Ferguson Falls; his adoring granddaughters, Lauren and Madison Falls; brother, Randy Falls and wife Anna; and sisters, Brenda Turlington and husband Dennis, Frances Troutman; several nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters in-law, Brad Jarrett, Bruce Jarrett and June J. West
A memorial service will take place on at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in the chapel at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s’s Research Hospital or Robin Johnson House.
