James Corrie Fessenden - also fondly known as "Jamie", age 58, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2024 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH from complications of surgery. He was born July 23, 1965 in Maine, son of Gerold Leroy Fessenden and Judith Gail (Griswold) Rennie.
He is survived by his devoted husband, Erich Rickheit, mother and step-father, Judith Gail Rennie and Robert Rennie, father, Gerold Leroy Fessenden, brother and sister-in-law, Brett Alan Fessenden and Cindy Benner, and many friends along the way.
Jamie grew up in numerous places but notably in Keene, NH and Berlin, NH. He was one of two sons in his family. Jamie was a graduate of the University of NH where his earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory.
Jamie set out to be a writer in junior high school. He published a couple short pieces in his high school's literary magazine and had another story place in the top 100 in a national contest, but
it wasn't until he met his partner (and later husband) Erich, almost twenty years later
that he began writing again in earnest. With Erich alternately inspiring and goading him, Jamie wrote several screenplays and directed a few of them as micro-budget independent films. His latest completed work premiered at the Indie Fest 2009 in Los Angeles and also played at the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival two weeks later. He then began writing novels and published his first novella in 2010.
