Fischer, James Coyne "Jimmy" of Bourne and Sarasota, FL, formerly of Arlington and Billerica. He passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home on August 22, 2024. He was 65 years old.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years Marie Boyle Fischer and his daughters Laura Fischer of Bourne, Kristie Powers and her husband Scott of Billerica, Lindsay Fischer and her partner Shawn Mooney of Woburn, and late baby boy James Boyle Fischer.
Jim is the loving Grampy 'Bubba" of Jackson James, Kali Mae, and Scott Matthew. Who he adored spending time with. James was the beloved son of the late John W. and Mae E. Fischer of Arlington.
Jimmy is also survived by his brother John and his wife Kathy of Arlington and twin sister Mae and her husband Jim Loveless of Las Vegas. Proud uncle of Jack, Mike, Keith, Heather, Ashley, and many other dear nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Jim also had many other lifelong friends.
Jimmy's mechanical interest started at a young age when he was fixing all the bicycles of Franklin Street. This led to a successful lifetime career in the automotive industry. He graduated from the Rhode Island Technical School and went on to become everybody's favorite local mechanic.
He had been enjoying his retirement with Marie in Florida. To everyone's surprise, Jimmy joined a pool volleyball league, took up riding a bike, and weekly poker and dart games.
He will always remembered for lending a hand to all his friends and neighbors with anything that needed to be done. His kind soul and infectious laugh brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial visitation at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., ARLINGTON on Friday, August 30th from 4-7 pm. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fidelity House, 25 Medford St., Arlington, MA 02474 or Saint Jude Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.

So many laughs and fond memories from the 11 years I worked at NAPA on Summer St and he had the Mobil station. Was very glad to reconnect with him when he was at Brown Automotive last year. My Condolences to Marie and all his Loved ones. Rest in Peace Jimmy, Thanks for being You!

Jimmy helped us with our first car - a '56 Chevy. Then a '65 Chevy. A '73 Dodge Dart, and a '75 Dodge Dart. He was instrumental and getting a '74 Dodge Dart from a retired teacher when I came back from a difficult divorce. The 1990 Geo and several Camrys. I feel like Jimmy was a brother from a different mother. I'm Phil's sister and our car problems were always centered around Arlington Motor Mart. Jimmy was kind and caring and always had a smile on his face. Even when you were stressed, Jimmy had a solution to your problem. So glad we got a chance to see Jimmy again when he came down to Sarasota. Who would believe he was a grandfather. Where did the time go. Our family so appreciated his help and good humor. Rest in peace, Jimmy. You were truly a good person. Joanne Bellinghieri-Clancy
