James "Pins" Floersch, 81, of Colonia passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison.
Born in Rahway, James resided in Avenel prior to settling in Colonia 25 years ago. He attended St. James School and later went on to Woodbridge High School, graduating in 1963. James was employed as a custodian with the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for many years. He loved his job, always enjoying interacting with the students and faculty, which would make his day. James lived a happy life and always seemed to make other people around him happy. He was genuinely a kind soul and will truly be missed.
James was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Marguerite Floersch along with his siblings, Peter, Mickey, Jack, Thomas, Richard, Patricia, Katheen, Maureen and Mary Jane. Surviving are his children, Anthony and Kelly Floersch; brother, Robert Floersch with his wife Janet; sister in law, Ann Floersch along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends as well as Elaine and her family.
Funeral services will begin at 10am on Friday, February 7, 2025 from GERITY & CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm at the funeral home.

Always remember Jim from hanging out at the Freeman Sreet park in Woodbridge,NJ. It was back in the 60's and the park was home to some outstanding basketball players. Jim was master at trick shots.RIP my friend.

After basketball practice at JFK High School me and Mike Lyons followed Pins around classrooms while he was cleaning just shooting the breeze and telling all kinds of stupid things that got us in trouble.Pins always had us laughing with his stories.REST IN PEASE.Rocky Mondo
