James Folds, 72, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025.
Born the youngest of five children to the late William and Bessie Folds, James lived a life of quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and deep devotion to his family and country. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years and later continued his service as a civil servant with the U.S. Air Force.
James was a long-time member of Midway Baptist Church, where he found joy, community, and spiritual guidance. He cherished time with his family and delighted in the role of husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie Folds, and his siblings, Cecil Folds, Patsy Anderson, and Lillie Waller.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Folds; his daughters, Gemmie (Allen) Harrison and Amy (John) Scanlon; his sister, Wanda (Billy) Atchison; and six beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Drew, and Callie Harrison, and Kelly, Riley, and Zoe Scanlon; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Committal Service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road Pensacola, FL 32508. The procession will meet no later than 1:00pm at Olive Baptist Church - Warrington Campus, 103 West Winthrop Avenue Pensacola, FL 32507.
James will be remembered for his integrity, faith, and the love he gave so generously. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
