Mary Ann Brown Folds, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully left this world on September 10, 2025, at her home in Pineview, Georgia. She lived a remarkable 95 years, dedicating her life to her family and faith. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, preceded by a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Rev. David Fletcher will lead the funeral service, with burial following at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Born and raised in Dooly County, Georgia, Mary was a proud member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where she found great joy in nurturing her Christian faith. While words may be few, her life spoke volumes about love, compassion, and strength. As a devoted homemaker, gardener, and caregiver, she touched the lives of everyone around her, always showcasing her love for Jesus Christ, her community, and her family.
The impact Mary had on others extended far beyond her immediate family. In these last years, she was surrounded by wonderful friends who became beloved members of her family. A heartfelt thank you to Shirley Fisher, Aubrea Holly, Patricia Erving, Mary Wyl Taylor, Tynesha Collins, and Mary Harrell for the unwavering love and care you provided to Mama. Your kindness made a lasting impression on her heart. Mrs. Folds was preceded in death by her husband, John Taylor Folds and her parents, Robert and Martha Brown.
Our gratitude also goes to the dedicated staff of Gentiva Hospice, especially Shelia, Jessica, Amy, Anna, Kimberly, Rita, and Taylor, who offered their support and compassion during every step of this journey. Your help was invaluable and deeply appreciated.
As we reflect on Mary’s life, we find solace in the belief that to die as a Christian is not to leave home, but rather to return to it. She is now safe in the arms of God, where love knows no bounds. O love, stronger than death! The grave cannot separate Christ and His friends. Other friends accompany us to the brink of the grave, and then they leave us. Neither life nor death can separate from the love of Christ.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished by her son Randy Folds; her daughters Gail Frank, Cheryl Beavers (Larry), and Kay Stone (Grover); her brother Marcus Brown; and a growing family of 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Georgia. Friends and family are invited to sign the online register at www.clarkfuneralhawkinsville.com
In our hearts, Mary will remain forever beloved, reminding us that true love transcends even the boundaries of life and death.
