James Frederick Frank

James "Jim" of West Bend, WI was called to Eternal rest on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at age 90. Jim was born November 1, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the son of Russell Frank and Viola (nee Mertz) Frank. Jim lived a full life of happiness, adventure, and generosity. Jim graduated from Rufus King High School in 1954, completed active duty time in the US Coast Guard from 1954 – 1958 and continued an additional four years in the inactive reserves. He was married to Phyllis (nee Sweemer) Frank on October 28, 1961.

Together Jim and Phyllis had two sons: James (Pam) Frank of Kewaskum, WI, and Robert (Anna) Frank of Port Townsend, WA. Jim was the grandfather of Brandon (Sara) Frank, Lindsey (Jerad) Yapp, Sophia Frank and Winter Harms. He was also the great-grandfather of Kenley Yapp, Adilyn Frank, Connor Yapp, Karley Yapp, and Jaxon Frank. Jim was the brother of Diane Russell (Earl) and Jeanette Schuttel (Kenneth). He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, his sister Jeanette Schuttel, brother-in-law Kenneth Schuttel and grandson Brandon Frank.

Jim was a small engine mechanic for the Milwaukee Public Schools for 34 years, retiring in 1996. He treasured spending time with his family. He and Phyllis enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome for 12 years after retiring.

Visitation will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park – Chapel of the Flowers, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM followed by a service at 2:30 PM with full military honors.
