James Fruik Obituary

He was born October 11, 1930, in Sagola, Mich., son of the late Russell and Pearl (Paquette) Fruik. James was Honorably Discharged from the Army in 1951 serving in Korea and Japan. He returned home to the Kingsford and Iron Mountain area to work and raise his family. Over the years James worked as a lumberjack, electrician, and a service repairman for Sears in the Iron Mountain store, retiring after 25 years.
Jim enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Fruik of Pikeville, Tenn, Charles Fruik of Iron Mountain, Mich., Jerry Fruik of Las Vegas, Nev., and Daniel Fruik of San Augustine Tex.; sisters, Sharon (Fruik) Wirkus of Shawano, Wisc., and Terri Fruik of Iron Mountain, Mich.; and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Fruik; second wife, Clara Fruik; his daughter, Rosemary (Fruik) Varnadore; and son, James Fruik Jr.
A private family graveside service will take place in the Channing Cemetery in spring.
