Mr. James Richard Garrett, age 68, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024, at his home in Cove, Arkansas. He was born September 9, 1955, in Monroe, Louisiana, to parents, Richard Owen Garrett, Jr. and Janelle (Ritchie) Garrett. James worked as a handyman by profession and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Garrett's fondest memory of the Army was getting to drive tanks. He loved being outdoors and building things, it was said that if it could be built, James could build it. He was an animal lover and was especially fond of his dogs, he is preceded by his dog, Annabelle, and survived by his dog, Outlaw. Mr. Garrett is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Owen Garrett, Jr. and Janelle (Ritchie) Garrett. He is survived by his loving wife, Taryn J. Jinks; daughter, Victoria Decker of Mena, Arkansas; son, (Vaughn) Edward Jackson of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; three brothers, Tucker Garrett of Florida, Richard Garrett and wife, Mi Sun of Colorado, Alan Garrett of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sister, Cindy Goad of Hot Springs, Arkansas; special friends, Ernie Cantrel of Florida, Cecil Benner of Wyoming; as well as a host of friends too numerous to mention. Cremation arrangements for Mr. James Richard Garrett are entrusted to Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. There are no services scheduled at this time.
