James Garrett Obituary

CLIFTON PARK – James Francis Garrett, 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2,

2025, at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Born in Albany, he was the son of the late James S. Garrett, Jr. and Jane M. (McAllister) Garrett.

Jim was a proud graduate of Shenendehowa High School, where he majored in Industrial Arts.

A man of many interests, Jim especially enjoyed woodworking and photography, spending

countless hours honing his skills in both.

Jim found his professional home at Home Depot when the national home improvement retailer

first came to the Capital Region. He went on to build a 25-year career at the Clifton Park store,

where he was well respected by both colleagues and customers. He retired in the fall of 2024.

Above all, Jim will be remembered for his remarkable sense of humor. He loved to tell jokes,

always finding ways to bring laughter to those around him. His quick wit and joyful spirit left a

lasting impression on everyone he met, and his family and friends will cherish those memories

forever.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Robin A. (White) Garrett; his six siblings, Susan

Manning (Joseph) of Clifton Park, David P. Garrett (Donna) of Mayfield, Mary Jane Garrett of

Clifton Park, John E. Garrett of Latham, Jeffrey P. Garrett (Natalie) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and

Krissy M. Trinchillo of Ballston Lake; as well as his nieces and nephews, who adored him.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward

the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park. Relatives and friends are

invited to visit with Jim's family at the church from 9–11 a.m. prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jim's memory to the Alzheimer's

Association (www.alz.org).

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

As a family we are so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. As kids we grew up in Cresant Estates in Clifton Park, when it was basically farm country back in the late 60s. Lots of fun and childhood memories! Our thoughts and prayers to your family today and in the days to come. Warmly Sabrina Lee ( Mccabe) Paul and John lee

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim through Home Depot years ago. One of the best parts about Jim was the way he spoke of his wife, Robin, whom he absolutely adored. Prayers to Robin and all of Jim´s family, he was truly one of the very best.
