STILLWATER - James J. Gethins, 79, passed away on August 28, 2025 at the home of his daughter, Hope.
He was born in Troy on January 21, 1946 a son of the late Peter and Tony Gethins
James was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Gethins and his sisters, Constance Gethins and Marie Perry.
James is survived by his 5 children, Hope (Louis ) Mazur, Holly Olmo, Stacey, Timmy and Joey Gethins; his grandchildren, Sarah, Jessica and Buddy Garner, Emmalee Provty, Noah Kuzawski, Ryleigh and Natalie Gethins and Ezekiel Olmo; his great grandchildren, Issabella, Bradley, Christian, Julian, Remi and Wyatt.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Monday, September 8, 2025 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY. The committal with military honors will immediately follow at 2:30 pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schulerville.
