James Arthur "Jim" Glasgow, 88
James Arthur "Jim" Glasgow, born August 4, 1937, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was a devoted family patriarch in spirit, always willing to help his family and cherish every moment spent together. He was a patient teacher and mentor, guiding those around him with kindness and encouragement, and instilling in his family the belief that they could achieve anything they set their minds to. His unwavering support and quiet wisdom left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
An avid lover of sports and competition, Jim especially enjoyed golf, embracing both the challenge of the game and the camaraderie it brought. He retired from Pepsi Cola after many years of dedicated service and, in retirement, took up helping out at Willow Wood Golf Course as a golf ranger, sharing his love of the game with others. He also found joy in woodworking, spending countless hours crafting beautiful pieces with care and precision. True to his adventurous spirit, Jim was always up for new experiences and exploring life to the fullest, sharing laughter and memories with those around him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dawn; his children Lynda (Mark) Wieferich, Karen (Roger) Beatty, and James (Mary) Glasgow; his grandchildren Casey (Brooke) Wieferich, Andrew (Madison) Wieferich, Ryan (Sara) Beatty, Alex (Kristina) Beatty, Chad (Amber) Beatty, Heather Beatty, Laura Glasgow, Emily Glasgow, Nicole Glasgow and 11 beautiful great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his close friend, Rick Stoken, who shared many of life's adventures with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladwyn and Mildred (French) Glasgow.
A memorial service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM at VFW Post 671, 12250 US 27, DeWitt, MI, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind in memory of James Glasgow.
Jim's life was a testament to love, family, creativity, mentorship, and an enduring zest for life. He will be deeply missed, but his lessons, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
