James L. Goode

James (Raggs) Goode, 61, of Vineland, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2025.
James (affectionally known as Raggs) was born in Ahoskie, NC to Altessie (Miss Sugar) Goode and the late Johnel Goode, Jr. James briefly attended school in Rich Square, NC before the
family relocated to Bridgeton, NJ. James was raised by his mother Tessie and attended Bridgeton Public Schools and graduated in 1982.
James resided in Vineland, NJ with his mother Tessie. James professed his belief of Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Kingdom Covenant. He was an active member of Embassy House of Zion where the leaders are Dr. RHMI/Pastor Paul Lacy. James was a valued employee of Easterseals NJ Inc.
Known for his sociable nature, Raggs cherished gatherings with family and friends. He loved his electric bicycle and enjoyed the freedom it brought him to travel wherever he pleased. He was a passionate Eagles fan; Raggs fun nature and laughter will be missed. "Fly Brother Fly."
James is survived by his mother Tessie Goode of Vineland, NJ, Siblings Gloria Oakley (Jose) of Mississippi and William Goode (Juliet) Bridgeton, NJ; Fraternal siblings: Cynthia B Moore, Catherine Bishop, Joyce Brown, Sabrina Boone, Robert Boone, Randy Boone, Timothy Tann, Terry Walton, and Abduljahl Alaudinn. Aunts Beatrice, Dorothy, Gladys, and Margaret: Nieces Takeeyah, Jenna, Jaye, Jordan, Tasha, Ashley and Janet: Nephews Melvin Jr, Joshua, Rodney. Lastly, a host of Cousins, Love ones and Friends.
James was preceded in death by his father Johnel Goode, Jr. sister Angela Goode Rogue, brother Melvin Goode, aunts: Hessie Ward of NC, Everline Rush, Carolyn DeLoatch, Fredricka Deloatch of NJ.
