James Goodwin

James Goodwin, the son of Butler Goodwin and Andrena Robinson Goodwin, was born January 9, 1941, in Edgefield County, South Carolina. He departed this life on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers in Aiken, South Carolina. James joined Shaws Creek Baptist Church at an early age. He served as a faithful member of the Sanctuary Choir. He attended Aiken Grade School and Martha Schofield High School. After school, he went to New York City where he lived and worked for many years and supported his sick parents. He was a faithful servant. James was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Carrie Amber and Emma Davis; brothers, Alfred Goodwin,Willie Butler Goodwin, Peter Goodwin, Moses Goodwin, Woodrow Goodwin, and James Goodwin. He lives to cherish precious memories: his brothers, John Henery Goodwin (Mamie), Moncks Corner, SC and Izell Goodwin (Margo), Bronx, NY; a special nephew, Ellis B. Goodwin, who took care of him; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
