James Taylor Gordy, age 69, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025. He was born on December 23, 1955, and was raised in Taylor's Ridge on Gordy Mountain.

James was a hardworking man who built his life and livelihood as a roofer. He valued honest work and carried that same dedication into every part of his life. A man of the Baptist faith, James loved spending time in the outdoors-whether fishing, hunting, or camping. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his willingness to help others, and the love he shared with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia F. Eaves and Barbara R. Gordy, and his brothers, William D. Gordy and Thomas W. Gordy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Wanda F. Crump; his brothers, Steve A. Gordy and Franklin J. Lot Gordy; his best friend, Kevin Roach; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Midway Baptist Church, 3593 US 41, Ringgold, Georgia 30736, with Pastor Jackie Swanson and Pastor Jerry Overby officiating.
