Jim Grantham, age 82, of Blairsville, Georgia transcended from this world into the arms of Jesus on May 27, 2025. Jim was born on December, 30 1942 to the late Joel Henry and Mary Chandler Winchester Grantham in Arcadia, Florida. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Haire and brother in law, Frank Haire.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 60 years, Sandy Grantham; daughters, Terri Jo (Jim) Von Plinsky of Sorrento, Florida; Gerri Ann (Bert) Padron of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Slayde (Chelsea) Williams, Chantz (Trin) Williams, Briana Padron, Ryan Padron, Alexis Von Plinsky; brother Joel H. (Natalia) Grantham; sister in law, Karen Roberson and five great grandchildren.
Jim was a graduate of Palm Beach High School class of '60 and maintained lasting friendships with fellow students. He worked and planned diligently to conduct many reunions together with them. He served his country with courage and honor in the United States Navy. He worked diligently for 32 years with the Orlando Florida Utilities Commission as a manager of both overhead and underground utility line maintenance. He was the man that everyone could call with any electrical need. He could cut and drop a tree for anyone that needed removal with expertise. His sense of humor was manifested in his creative story telling. Jim was devoted to all his beloved family. His Christian faith found service to his Lord and beloved church in Deacon ministry.
Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Monday, June 2, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Blairsville sanctuary with Pastor Ricky Powell officiating and music shared by Chris Patterson. The service will begin at 12 P.M. Prior to the funeral service hour, Jim's family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Blairsville, Georgia from 10 A.M. until the 12 P.M. funeral service hour.
Interment will follow Tuesday June 2, 2025 at 1:00PM at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
