James Hurschell Griffin Jr.

James Hurschell Griffin Jr, 79, of Doraville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. Hurschell was born October 19, 1946 in Thomaston, Georgia. He devoted his life to his family, his work, and his faith in God. He was a faithful member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Hurschell dedicated 38 years of service to General Motors at the time of his retirement. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia Griffin, his parents James H. Griffin Sr, Dorothy Griffin, and grandson Griffin Hinson.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law Penney and Brian Hinson of Suwanee, Georgia. Also surviving are grand daughters Harper and Aubrey Hinson. Brother David Griffin of Doraville, Georgia and sister Cheryle Griffin of Talapoosa, Georgia, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather to remember Hurschell during visitation on Wednesday and Thursday, November 19th and 20th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel.
A visitation will also be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Crossroads Baptist Church, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Patricia and his grandson Griffin. Pastor Kenny Kuykendall of Crossroads Baptist Church will be officiating both services. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
