James "Jim" Lee Hampson
Cumberland Valley, PA-James "Jim" Lee Hampson, 81, of Cumberland Valley, PA, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 after a battle with cancer.
Born March 8, 1941 in Waynesburg, PA, Mr. Hampson was the son of the late Ralph Day Hampson and Madeline (Widdup) Hampson.
Jim was graduate of Frostburg State College Class of 1964. He retired from Allegany College of Maryland having taught computer science and was a former employee of P.P.G. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Jim was a member of Second Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Jim is survived by his wife: Judith Ann (Shryock) Hampson; his sons: Craig Hampson; and Kevin Hampson and wife Diana; his brothers: Gary Hampson and wife Sue; and Howard Hampson and wife Judy; as well as his grandchildren: Aaron Hampson, Alyssa Hampson, Amanda Gottshall and husband Ben; Bryan Hampson and wife Crystal; Richard Hampson and wife Brianna; and Madeline Hampson; his great-grandchildren: Mason, Noah, Caleb, Christian, Hazel, Calvin, Evelyn, Magnolia, Eila, and Octavia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Austin Lauderdale officiating.
Interment will be in Fellowship Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his name to Second Baptist Church, 1 Grand Avenue, Cumberland, MD 21502.
