James Robert Hartman, 75, of Warren, OH passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.

He was born March 4, 1950, in Warren, OH, the son of the late Gordon R. and the late Jesse "Marie" (Shockey) Hartman.

James was a 1968 graduate of Mathews High School.

James was proud of his military service in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona eventually serving in Vietnam and Thailand.

He worked as a machinist at Daum and Dewey in Vienna and later for the Warren Tribune Chronicle as a district sales manager. Most recently, he worked for T.L. Express in Mantua as a truck driver.

James attended Delightful Church in Southington, where he served as a trustee, usher, and sang bass in the choir. He enjoyed playing golf, collecting M&M and Santa Claus figurines, woodworking, and trains. He looked forward to having breakfast with family and friends and going to Yankee Kitchen for liver and onions. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Guardians and proud fan, "Yes I Am", of the Kansas City Chiefs.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Connie (Fechter) Hartman of Warren, OH, whom he married August 22, 1970; son, Craig Hartman of North Canton, OH; daughter, Tina Cleal of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; sister, Shirley DeJean of Vienna, OH; brothers, David (Sue) Hartman of Leavittsburg, OH and John Hartman of Vienna, OH; grandchildren, Kymberli, Brandan and Auston Cleal all of Brunswick, OH and Drew Hartman of North Canton, OH; first cousin, Robert Scheitrumpf of Warren, OH; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce (Hartman) King and Louise (Hartman) Bryant; and special friends, James Kinter and Joe Bednarcik.

Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Chuck Campbell will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
