James Michael Hartzog

Mr. James Michael Hartzog, 64, of Statesville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 13, 2025.
James was born on December 13, 1961, in Ashe County, to the late Larry Hampton Hartzog and Naomi Ruth Miller Hartzog. He spent much of his life in Statesville, where he was known as a steady, kind, and dependable presence to those around him.
James worked as a security guard for most of his life, a role that reflected his strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and dedication. He took pride in his work and was respected for his commitment and dependability.
In his quieter moments, James enjoyed watching television shows, finding comfort and relaxation in the simple routines that brought him peace. He valued a calm life, meaningful conversations, and time spent with the people he loved most.
He lived his life quietly but meaningfully, offering kindness without expectation and support without hesitation. His life was one of quiet impact, and his memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Ruth Hartzog.
He is survived by a daughter, Stacey Hartzog of Statesville, who will forever cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service.
