James B. Hatley
James Hatley died 5/17/25 at the Clarion Health Care in Clarion. He was born on 25 April, 1940 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Dorthy Mary Selders. Jim grew up in Roswell, New Mexico where his grandmother basically raised him, Jim was a very adventurous kid. He joined the Army at age 16 and spent two years in Panama. Jim worked in various jobs throughout his life, but ended his career in the mobile home industry, retiring from Commodore Corporation in 2001.
Jim married Sally Ratliff and enjoyed many wonderful years together until her death in December 1998. On November 13, 1999 he and Romaine McClune were married. Following their retirements in 2001 they enjoyed traveling.
Jim is Survived by a son, Lee Hatley (Pamela) of Roswell, NM; a daughter, Michelle Payton, (Sean) of Mesa, AZ; a grandson, Philip Jewell (Stephanie) of Converse, TX; three granddaughters, Miranda Dobrick (Parkar) of NC; Samantha Christie (Stephen) of AZ; Tatum Hatley of San Tan Valley, AZ. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by a sister, Cyndi Thompson of Mt. Pleasant TX; and a niece, Tammie Castleberry of Amarillo, TX. Jim was preceded in death by a son James of AZ and a sister Mildred of TX.
Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church in Limestone, PA.
Jim enjoyed fishing (especially the lakes of Arizona), country music and The Beatles, sports – baseball, golf, NASCAR, football (Dallas Cowboys, then Steelers), and wire fox terriers.
Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church in Limestone, PA on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 1 PM until time of services at 2 PM. Pastor Mike Shreckengost will be officiating and interment will be at Salem Cemetery in Frogtown, PA.
Arrangements are being handled by the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion, PA.
