James Freddie Hawk, 75, of Marion, passed away at 3:04 pm on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Miller's Merry Manor in Marion.

Born on March 24, 1950, in Hartford City, Indiana, James was the son of James Frances and Shirley (Irwin) Hawk. He graduated from Fairmount High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1969-1973. Following his military service, he worked at Link Belt in Indianapolis. A proud member of the American Legion in both Beech Grove and Marion, James was known for his dedication and service.

James had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and golfing. He also had a passion for playing cards, especially Poker, which he cherished most when surrounded by family.

He is survived by his children: James Faron (Buffy) Hawk of Van Buren, Amber (Cameron) Kelsey of Lebanon, and Jacob Foster (Melissa) Hawk of Carmel; grandchildren, Jasmyne Hawk, Addison Kelsey, Winter Hawk, and Jackson Hawk; great-granddaughter, Lillionna Lovell; sisters, Kristie (Thomas) May and Kalie (Gary) McCoy, both of Marion; sister-in-law, Vanessa Hawk; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Hawk and Joe Hawk; and sister, Kitty (Terry) Jackson.

James will be remembered for his warm heart, his love of family, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on in the memories shared and the lives he touched.

A memorial visitation for James will take place from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
