Jim is survived by his wife, Connie Hicks; Sons, Sean (Angela) Hicks, James (Rebecca) Hicks Jr., Brian McCreight; Daughters, Lori (Maurice) Wilson and Ann (Cory) Stolberg; Siblings, Otto, Kathy, Helen, Christene, John, Cindy, Mary, Patricia; Grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Sean James, Ronnie, Michael, Heather, Jessica, Amber, Matthew, Ryan, Tyler, Kelsea, Caitlyn, Ronnie, Ricky, Ashley, Aliyah and several great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; Son, James Patrick Hicks; Grandson, Randy Wilson; Siblings Richard, Barbara, Penny, Charles and Bill.
Jim was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Salem, IL. He loved antique guns, Nascar and visiting the beautiful mountains of Arizona. He took pride in his work as a professional painter, and business manager for several business including managing a 73 unit motel in Winslow, AZ and also managed the Lucky 7 storage unit and U-haul in Cordes Lake, Arizona.
A Visitation will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, IL. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, IL with Sean Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Mount Vernon, IL at a later date. Memorials may be made in Jim's honor to Cornerstone Baptist Church.
