James Mitchell Hogarth died peacefully with family members by his side on November 15 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta GA.
James was also known as dad, OP, and my Love.
He was born on October 19, 1954 in Clinton Indiana. He was the son of Walter and Florence (Edna) Hogarth. Surviving siblings, Karen Joy Umbarger, Walter (Clipper) J Hogarth Ill, Kevin Dwight Hogarth, Scott Bradely Hogarth, and Helen Kay Hogarth.
He graduated from Clinton High School in 1973.
He was commissioned as an Infantry Officer upon graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1977.
With great disappointment, Jim was injured after serving 3 years in the Army. He was honorably discharged and medically retired as a First Lieutenant.
In 1988 he received his MBA at Northeastern University.
He worked at Boston Edison as Electric Vehicle Product Manager, he worked on many projects including electrification of buses, reduced emissions at Logan Airport, and cost-effective solutions to construct new wastewater treatments to clean up Boston Harbor.
His passion was always to make this world a better place to live. He continued to work with clean energy in his later years.
He met the love of his life Theresa, and they were married and lived in San Antonio for 10 years. They returned to the East coast to be with family in 2016.
He spent his later years filled with many memorable moments watching grandchildren's soccer games, football games, equestrian and karate competitions. He traveled from Massachusetts, Georgia and South Carolina to see his children and 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, his dearest treasures.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Theresa, his children Kristin Raimer, Shawn Hogarth and his spouse Marie, his stepchildren Catherine Rea and her spouse Jerry Rea, Chris Murphy and his spouse Kaylee Murphy.
He was very much loved by his extended family, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many devoted friends he considered family.
Jim will be remembered for his love of Science, the U.S. Constitution, antiques, storytelling and his Donald Duck impressions.
He always believed dreams do come true. Thank you for your inspiration and love Jim. You will be missed.
