James Imtanios, age 33, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 21, 1991, James lived most of his life in Keansburg, New Jersey.
As the saying goes, growing up in a small town means having a heart full of memories and a soul rooted in simple joys. James embodied this adage by leaving us with countless wonderful memories, and by finding joy in simple things like the New York Mets, Giants and Knicks, Marvel's Deadpool, the Simpsons and Family Guy.
James is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Alex "Beeba" Marshowsky and Marie Kokulak, and his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Najebe "Tayta" Imtanios. He leaves behind his beautiful children Riley, Miles, and Lamont who he considered one of his own, in addition to his adoring parents Nehme and Rosemarie Imtanios, his sister Alexandra Imtanios and her fiancé Amy Schenk, his brother Joseph Imtanios, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Passionate about good music, one of James' favorite artists, Lil Wayne says, "As long as people remember me forever, that will be enough for me". There is no doubt James' memory will be eternally cherished. If you were ever fortunate enough to be on the other end of one of his heart to heart conversations, you know what a determined and kind spirit he had. He also loved a competitive game of Texas Hold'em and had a knack for hitting a challenging parlay. Forever a risk taker, and sometimes with the odds stacked against him, James still managed to pile up a series of winning moments during his life, resulting in a payout of endless love from those who knew him.
James' time with us wasn't nearly long enough, but as we reflect on how fortunate we were to have met and loved him, we consider "What a Wonderful World" we live in because for 33 unforgettable years, he was part of it. Rest in eternal peace, Habibi.
James' family will receive relatives and friends at the Laurel Avenue Funeral Home in Hazlet, NJ on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann Church in Keansburg on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 10:00am.
