James Edward Urban, 65, of Ashford passed away peacefully Saturday Sept. 6, 2025 at Lutheran Homes & Health Services in Fond du Lac. He was born in Waupun on June. 25, 1960, the son of James and Shirley (nee Fleischman) Urban. He lived most of his life in Ripon and worked for Diverse Options,. James lived a simple yet full life, surrounded by the things and people he loved most. He cherished family gatherings filled with laughter, Mom’s good cooking, a few beers, and games of Ship, Captain, Crew. In his quiet moments, James enjoyed making pull rugs, sketching on his Etch A Sketch, writing on paper, playing Connect Four, watching his beloved Packers and Brewers, or relaxing with a good movie. Though a man of few words, you could always tell his wheels were turning by the look on his face—and when he did speak, his humor would shine through, usually followed by his trademark smirk. He also treasured outings and simple adventures, whether it was bowling, driving around to admire Christmas lights, going to the ballpark to see Timber Rattlers, or heading out on a fishing trip. James had four great loves in life: his family, Packer football, Brewer baseball, fishing, and listening to music—especially classic old country tunes. These passions defined his days and brought him joy, comfort, and connection. James will be remembered not only for the hobbies he enjoyed but also for his warmth, humor, and the simple, genuine way he approached life.
