James "Donnie" Jenkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on March 14, 2025 at the age of 69. He leaves behind a legacy of an example on how to be a great man and love with all his heart.
He loved camping, playing bluegrass music, and spending time with family and friends and was loved by all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jennie Jenkins of the home, his children Kevin (Michelle) Marshall and Jessica (Jasper) Spaugh of East Bend, his 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grand-children and 1 on the way. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank and Bernie Jenkins and sister-in-laws, Carrie Burnett and Betty and Judy Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Gladys Jenkins, brothers Bobby, Richard, Everett, and Danny Jenkins and eight half siblings.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, NC. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Gentry Family Chapel at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, NC. Burial will follow at Baltimore Global Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care that they provided to Donnie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017.
His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
